Cheap Button Cell Batteries (at a Stock-up Price)

Batteries are expensive. Button cell batteries are even more expensive.

Often, replacement batteries are more expensive that the item they came in. This is especially true with small toys and gadgets — just the things that kids get in their stockings at Christmas.

However, there’s no reason to pay $6+ for a pair of batteries for a $2 gadget.

On Amazon, it’s super simple to find cheap bulk button cell batteries. If you’re able to get some with free super saver shipping and combine the battery purchase with something else that will push the total over $25, you can often get a dozen (or more) button batteries for less than the cost of two when purchased locally. If you burn through them quickly, you can even pick up 50 or even 100-packs for less than $15.

$0.25 for 1-Qt Poinsettias at Lowes.com with Free Store Pickup!!!

poinsettiaI wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t placed an order myself.

A post on another blog said these were $0.50 each, so I thought I’d order a few for some friends. When I entered my zip code, the price at the Ensley store was $0.25 each!

If you need any Poinsettias for Christmas, I’d JUMP on this deal before it’s gone.

$0.25 1-Quart Poinsettia at Lowes.com (remember to choose free ship-to-store)

Also note: their site said that these are in stock in the store so thay’ll be ready for pickup 20 minutes after the store opens tomorrow. Again, this is a GREAT deal!

I just picked up several that I ordered online last night. They’re on the small side, and they certainly don’t look greenhouse-fresh. However, in a grouping, they look fine – especially for the price.

Last Day of Blinkie Cycle – November 6

Sunday November 6, will be the last day for the current blinkie machine cycle – they’ll be pulling the machines that are now in the stores and putting up the next batch. This means that it’s OK to take as many as you need from the machines on Saturday.

Please don’t empty the machines early in the cycle. However it hurts no one if you do it right before they pick up the machines.

It’s getting colder, so we’re starting to see lots of coupons for Winter favorites. There’s a hot new coupon for Nestle Hot Cocoa mix that matches up nicely with sales at a couple of stores right now.

Both Target and Publix have Nestle Hot Cocoa on sale right now, and this coupon will bring each box to a great price at either store. Target will be a little cheaper, but not enough to balance out gas if you have to drive further.

Welcome Escambia County Health Department Coupon Class Participants!

First, I’d like to thank the Health Department for giving me the opportunity to put on the couponing classes last week. I had an awesome time! More importantly, I hope I was able to show how you can get started saving more money.

Second, I wanted to let you know that I’ll be sending out the Powerpoint in email on Monday. I’m happy that nearly everyone wanted a copy, but it will take me a bit to key in all of the email addresses.

Next, I was asked in both classes where you might be able to find the Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce. It’s available at all area Walmarts.

Finally, I want to publicly thank Denise from Shopper Strategy. Denise provided both the coupons for the Country Bob’s Sauce and the coupons for the Coupon Clutches (as well as much appreciated encouragement). So make sure to head over to her site and leave a thank you note, too.

If your group, organization, or business would like me to put on a coupon class like I did for the Health Department, just leave a comment anywhere on the site with your contact info (I’ll edit out the contact info before making the comment “live”).

I’d love to do another class, and I’m sure your group will enjoy it just as much as the folks on Friday did.

CVS Coupon Kung Fu Classroom

CVS has become my favorite drug store for couponing. Most Sundays I’ll be at one of my local CVS’s doing the matchups to get free or cheap items.

CVS isn’t quite as confusing as other drugstores, and their staff is usually extremely helpful, but a good understanding of the CVS rewards program will help make your shopping trips productive and less stressful.

If you haven’t started couponing at a drug store yet and there’s a CVS near you, I highly recommend that you learn their system so that you can begin picking up some of the bargains. Continue reading →

Finding Coupons Like a Coupon Kung Fu

coupon inserts

Once you begin couponing, you’ll quickly find yourself wanting to get all the coupons you can get your hands on. I’m kind of the same way.

Just remember that coupons and deals will come back around, so there’s really no reason to have hundreds of any coupon (or bunches of items from a specific deal).

That said, there are several places that coupons can be found. I’ll detail each one along with the tricks to make sure you have all you need. Continue reading →
